Flowerotica: A Night of Queer Power, Scented Secrets, and Wild Beauty
Last weekend, the Shoreditch Arts Club pulsed with heat and life as Urania and the club co-hosted Flowerotica — a night that celebrated queer artistry and unapologetically self-expression.
At the center of it all was Urania’s newest creation, the fragrance Flowerotica revealed for the first time that night.
"Rooted in indole — the mysterious molecule found in flowers that attracts and repels — the scent unfolded as an olfactory experience of contradiction: seduction entwined with survival, sweetness shadowed by danger." says Winder Ton.
Guests were invited to smell, feel, and reflect on the primal tension between beauty and defense.
But Flowerotica was more than a fragrance launch. It was a living, breathing ecosystem of queer art and performance. Two powerful moving image works, created by artists Marilia Stagkouraki and Radek Husak, filled the space with lush, defiant visuals that radiated queerness, tenderness, and strength in bloom.
The performances pushed the energy even higher. Perle Rare’s burlesque act was a hypnotic mix of elegance and power — sultry, subversive, unforgettable. Luca Asta, joined by acclaimed cellist Zara Hudson-Kozdoj, delivered a raw, intimate performance, merging music and live performance on thhe pole dance, that held the crowd in stillness and awe.
Costume designer Callum Mac’s creations shimmered through the night — sculptural, sensual, and unique.
And when it was time to dance, Someone Sunny lit up the floor with a dreamy, high-energy set that kept bodies moving deep into the night. Beats pulsed, sweat glistened, and for a few hours, everything else fell away.
Flowerotica wasn’t just an event. It was a moment — bold, strange, beautiful, and utterly unforgettable.
